The Funniest Movie Of the Summer "Ted" Reviewed

Sometimes life throws a curve ball at you and there is nothing you can do about it. Originally watching "People Like Us" was the plan yesterday and later on on Sunday a review of "Magic Mike" and "Ted" was going to be released, that was the plan, but sometimes the plan needs to be scrapped and life is meant to take it's own route regardless of what you have to say about it. In this case life pointed in the direction of "Ted" and so "Ted" is what was watched. The first thing that needs to be said before this review begins is that if you are not a fan of "Family Guy" then this movie is not for you, its not like being a fan is required but it is the case that if you are a fan you'll love this movie, if you're not you will either hate this movie or have a "...meh..." reaction to this movie, that's just how it is. Now that the disclaimer is done with let's jump in and review this thing.

If you watch the preview above then you basically get a picture about what this movie is about, it's not a deep movie to grasp, it's just a story about  a man and his bear who happened to come to life. Starting with the negative here, it needs to be said that this movie is offensive, not just a little bit offensive but very offensive, even finding a preview that did not contain a ton of offensive material was hard. This is not a children's movie, so if you are a parent and thought about taking your kids to see this, well, know what you're getting yourself into first. There are tons of curse words, tons of mature material and lines are crossed various times. If everything that was just said is a plus for you then please go watch this movie, you'll love it, if not then you're welcome, I just saved you $8-$15 depending on where you live.

The first positive thing that needs to be said about this movie is that it was funny, like really funny, I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Seth MacFarlane knows his stuff, he wrote, directed and played Ted, the man has got a gift, a sick perverted gift, but a gift none of the less. I haven't heard a theater laugh that hard in ages, it wasn't like there was just a few of us laughing throughout the picture but it was everyone laughing every other second, if you are in need of a laugh and you love Seth's humor then this movie is the right choice for you, you'll love it from beginning to end. Some might argue that the writing is simple, as in it's not a complex existential script, but I would argue that writing a script that makes an audience laugh that much is one of the most complex things a writer can do, comedy is one of the most complex mediums for a writer, thus Seth MacFarlane deserves mad props for this movie.

This is the first full length movie Seth MacFarlane has directed, and he did a great job. Comedies are not only hard to write but are also very hard to direct, you need to have vision in order to understand what will work and what will flop on the big screen, you need to have a deeper understanding of the picture than everyone else, a bigger perception about how the movie needs to come together in order for it to strike gold, and Seth accomplished all these things, this movie did strike gold, in its own Seth MacFarlane way. I say "Seth MacFarlane way" because it is just that, his combination of humor has no proper label to it, it's a unique mixture of genres within comedy that forms this comedic masterpiece.

Mark Wahlberg deserves mad props for acting on something different than he generally does, you can't help but half expect him to rob a bank or have a gun fight with someone during the flick, it is his m.o. after all. Anyway, Mark was awesome, he was funny, clever and sold his role well, he did a fantastic job. Mila Kunis also did a fantastic job looking amazing as usual, but seriously she did a great job as well, it's not easy doing what these two did, doing a movie about a teddy bear and not be cheesy throughout it, that is no easy feat. Honestly the writing and acting was so good that you sort of forget that Ted is a teddy bear and just start treating him as another character in the movie, the movie is just that funny and that entertaining. Side characters also deserve a shout out here, Joel McHale and Giovanni Ribisi both were fantastic, both sold their roles well, there were other cameos that surprised and were awesome but I don't want to spoil anything.

It needs to be said again though that this movie is not for everyone, it is vulgar, trashy, and offensive, it does resemble "Family Guy" in that Seth wrote both and his humor is unique, but the movie is more visually mature than the animated series, Seth can get away with more in the big screens than he can on network television, so be warned. For those that love Seth's work and have followed his career since it's beginning, well, you'll love this film, you'll die laughing and be thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. This was Seth's debut on the big screen and he gave us exactly what we thought he was going to give, doing a fantastic job of it, needless to say I am looking forward to his next projects to come, hopefully they will live up to this movie.

Hope everyone had a fantastic week and that this weekend might be a safe and fun one for you. Be sure to enjoy your summer as much as possible, relax, have fun, but above all spend it with those you love.

From Toddlers to Young Adults: 5 Fun Shows

Some have come to us recently and made the critique that we never review or talk about shows that are designed for a younger audience and that we should make a post reviewing some so that our younger readers might get some content as well. Therefore the challenge was set and this post had to be made, this post is built a little differently in that the age groups per show will vary, for the most part the shows are directed towards teens, early and late, but there is one show I couldn't help but talk about first, it's a show geared from toddlers all the way to 4-5 year old if not even older, thus let us begin.

   Yo Gabba Gabba

There are many ways to describe this show, weird, confusing, bizarre or as it is most commonly known, crack for babies. For some reason babies love this show, but not only babies but children of a variation of ages loves this show, DJ Lance Rock the host of this show has actually been invited to concerts put on by older audiences, so even some adults love the show, it makes no sense....or at least it did until I watched the show and loved it as well. I was visiting some friends recently and they have a two year old who is obsessed with this show, they informed me that she has loved the show since she was younger, so this wasn't a fad but a legit love, which is different with kids, specially now-a-days where people grow bored of things so easily. Anyway, give "Yo Gabba Gabba" a chance and you'll come to love it, it'll be strange, but seeing your kid happy will affect you into liking the show as well, maybe that's the X factor.

     Level Up

This is the next step up on our show evolution. "Level Up" is this generation's "Power Rangers", just by looking at the synopsis of the shows placed side by side you'll notice the similarities. The show is obviously for this generation in that it's referring to "gamers" and the "internet", hitting on two of the strongest interests of everyone who is getting older in today's generation. The show is silly and cheesy, it doesn't have anything too violent and no cursing is involved in the production of this picture, so it is a good old live-action TV show about High School students saving the world from monsters, "Power Rangers" much?

     The Neighbors (ABC)

This show has not come out yet, so this might be weird in that you're thinking we should be reviewing shows that are already out, well I cheat, this is a preview of a decent looking show that will be coming out on ABC this fall. The show follows a family who is basically your normal human family but who have neighbors who are aliens. Yes, this is the plot of many children's alien movies and thus this show fit this list for best upcoming show geared towards a younger audience. The true reason behind talking about this show is this show's director Chris Koch (Modern Family, Scrubs, My Name is Earl) and the writer Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Tangled, Cars 2), both of which are brilliant and have not disappointed before, so keep a close eye on this show, it looks like it's going to be a good one.

     Regular Show

When you reach your early teens you are introduced to the glorious world of Cartoon Network, from the older shows they have to the newer ones, Cartoon Network will become a go to channel for sure. Besides the infatuation you'll begin to have with "Adult Swim" which will consume part of your life even in your college undergrad years, there are shows within Cartoon Network that are obviously not your normal "teen shows", "Regular Show" is one of these shows. There really isn't any description I could give to summarize this show, it's a tale of two best friends getting in trouble in the world, that's the best anyone can do really. The downside to this show is that most episodes are hit or miss, so be ready for that, the ducklings episode is the best one in my humble opinion, but anyway, check it out.

   Adventure Time

It boggles my mind how some people think this show is a kids show, this is by far one of the most bizarre yet entertaining shows on TV, but it does host a plethora of adult material throughout the show, it's well hidden mind you but if you are familiar with the references then it all comes together and this show takes on a new light. The best description for this show is that this is the "Yo Gabba Gabba" for young adults, it's the weird show that everyone loves without really knowing why they love it but still loving every second of it. This is most definitely a hate it or love it show though, there is no middle ground, I'm sure that there is an exception out there but I've never heard someone say "oh I kind of like that show", its always been either love or hate directed at the show, anyway, you should give it a shot and decide for yourselves.

And there you have it, 4 awesome shows you can watch and 1 you can look forward to. On Friday I'll be reviewing "People Like Us", but check back with us on Sunday where you'll find the review of "Ted" and "Magic Mike", it's only fair to do them both at once.

Top 5 Supernatural Shows You Must Watch

We are living under interesting times where vampires, werewolves and zombies are the "in" thing to either have movies based on or TV shows based on, this can be a really good thing or a really bad thing depending on who is in charge of production for each show or movie. There are a ton of good TV shows out there that deal with the supernatural but we decided to narrow this post to the top 5 shows that deal with either zombies, werewolves and vampires. These are our picks for best written, produced, cast and directed out of all the other shows out there. Keep in mind that many of these shows are not for children, these are mature themes and thus the shows are generally geared towards a more mature audience.

True Blood

We have Charlaine Harris to thank for this brilliant series as she wrote all the books in this series. There was fear among many of her fans as the announcement was made that the books were going to be made into a TV series, but after the first season everyone's fears were put to rest for this series is fantastic. It is true that the series has followed the book loosely at some points and I recommend you read the books, but the TV show is fantastic as well. The show's brilliant cast deserves a shout out here, specifically Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard and Sam Trammell, for their continued fantastic performance. The series has continued to flourish attracting more and more fans as the seasons go on, this is a sure win when it comes to vampire shows.

  The Vampire Diaries

This show is the best alternative to "True Blood" out there, though "True Blood" is a great series it is designed for a more mature audience having mature themes surround almost every episode, "The Vampire Diaries" shines here in that it keeps some mature content but does not go overboard with it, they focus a bit more on character progression and storyline versus shock factor and nudity. This show is a sure fit for anyone that likes the vampire theme but does not like the shock factor you find in "True Blood". Here is another show where the main cast shines, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and the great Ian Somerhalder bring this series to life. In the end though the success of this series is due to the writing talents of both Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson who have brought this series to life and guided it since its beginning. If too much gore is not your bag then this is the show for you.

   Being Human

There is a disclaimer that needs to be made here, "Being Human" is a great show as long as you're talking about the UK version of the show, the US version is alright, but it really fails hardcore when you compare it to the original UK release. The show follows three flatmates who randomly found themselves living together, a female ghost, a male werewolf and a male vampire and the adventures that they go through while living together. The British version of the show is raw and fun, it is brilliantly written and cast, its everything you would expect from this show, but the American version just tries too hard on making the show...well...more "American", it takes away from some of the show's stronger points. Both shows are available on Netflix so check it out yourselves and let me know if you disagree.

    The Walking Dead

"The Walking Dead" has not disappointed yet the first two seasons were brilliant and both followed the comics rather well. This is by far the best zombie TV series ever made to date, there isn't even a competition when it comes to the theme. This series is based off of the best zombie comic-book series ever written, titled just like the series "The Walking Dead" it is a great read, if you are a fan of the series or the genre, reading this series is highly recommended. This is another series that is brought to life by a fantastic cast of actors, Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal and Sarah Wayne Callies all deserve mad props for their continued performance on this show. This is a series about zombies so there will be strong themes throughout it, be forewarned, but it is a great series. It's nice to have a series based on a previous work that follows that work almost to a T.

   Teen Wolf

This is definitely the weakest title within this article, but it is the only successful werewolf TV show we have right now. This show is geared towards a younger audience (late teens) and isn't as well written as the series we've previously mentioned above, but it is still a really fun series. Starting up it was a bit slow and many times you will find yourself cringing from the cheese in some episodes, but again it merits being mentioned for it is the best werewolf centered TV show in the market right now. This is still a young show and this next season has already showed great promise, so maybe as the show matures we will see it become better and better, or so one can hope. Give this show a shot, its a fun one.

And there you have it, there are a lot of other shows that could be included within this list, but these 5 are definitely the best in the market right now. We hope you had a fantastic weekend and pray that this week might be a good one.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Review "2012 Brashest Movie Of The Summer"

The majority of reviews out there for "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" are bad ones, there are a lot of people hating on this movie and telling people not to go watch it. I'm here to tell you that this movie was not only a fun movie but it is also receiving the "brashest movie of the summer" award for 2012. Every year we select one film to win this prestigious award, last year's winner being "Cowboys And Aliens" and this year the award goes to good old Abe. To those that are not familiar with the definition of brash, here is some help:

Brash: Self-assertive in a rude, noisy, or overbearing way. (dictionary.com)
 Used it in a sentence:
Tim: Have you seen the latest Michael Bay flick?
Bob: Yeah man, it was so brash I could barely handle it.

  Casting

The casting for this movie was superbly done, Benjamin Walker was fantastic as Abe and Dominic Copper outdid himself as he played Henry, Abe's mentor in the vampire hunting business. The movie was filled with good actors, from the main villain played by the awesome Rufus Sewell, to Abe's best friend and surprise amazing performance of Anthonie Mackie. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was stunning as Mary and Jimmi Simpson pulled through big time as Speed. There were many great moments within this movie but it was this brilliant combination that made the movie come to life so well. Benjamin Walker deserves the most praise for sure, he played a classic Abraham Lincoln, you'll thoroughly enjoy his performance.

  Book Adaptation

Fans of the book be forewarned that the movie takes a different direction than the book. The book is way funnier and in some elements is even brasher than the film, I won't put any spoilers in here just in case anyone wants to read the book still, I recommend it, it is definitely a good read. Seth Grahame-Smith got to work on the screenplay so it's not like some Hollywood producer ruined the book, it was Seth that decided to take his work in a different direction and create this brash representation of his novel. The movie is a joke action movie, a brash action movie. To be fully entertained by this movie one must summon the same mindset that was summoned for "Cowboys and Aliens", in doing so this movie will take a different shape, it will become something awesome instead of a bad movie.

    Action Sequences

This is where the movie shone, the film is packed with awesome unique fight scenes, be it with Abe using his axe to vanquish some vampires, to a horse stampede fight scene, to a great train fight sequence, the fight scenes within this movie will surely keep you entertained. Remember that this is not a Michael Bay film so there won't be explosions everywhere or special effects everywhere, this is just your good old fight sequences, even resembling at times martial-arts movies. In fact I would wager that if you like martial-arts movies then you will find enjoyment in this film. While watching this film remember that this is a brash movie, so they are all absurd for sure, but that's the whole point.

   Watchability

A movie like this one requires a mindset prior to going to see it, you must fully prepare yourself for what you are about to face, you must get yourself into brash mode. This is the kind of movie you gather your friends together to go watch and escape an afternoon together. The movie is not made to be taken seriously, if you do that then you missed the point of the film (i.e. Cabin in The Woods). "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is a good movie to go see in theaters but it will become a great Saturday "brash movie night" gathering with your friends. If you enjoy brash movies and was feeling like your brash thirst was not being quenched this summer then rest assured that this movie will satiate your thirst.

And there you have it, we won't always have Sunday posts but when two good movies come out in a weekend we'll do our best to bring you two reviews. We hope your weekend has been a restful one and pray that it has been a safe one.

Congrats Miami Heat!!! & "Brave" Review!!!

We got a chance to go watch the new Pixar movie "Brave" yesterday and we were pleasantly surprised by the different approach the movie took and how deep yet witty the story was. Before we start talking about the movie though we must first give a big shout out to all the Miami Heat fans out there who have stuck it out and shown once and for all that they do have a great team, a team that knows how to work together, a team deserving of the title. A lesson that can be learned from this team is that it doesn't matter how many stars you have in your roster, if they cannot work together then they will go nowhere, it was the Heat's teamwork that brought them this win, we look forward to the Heat's continued growth and wish all Heat fans good luck for next year.

Like many Pixar movies before it, "Brave" had a fun short-animation film prior to the movie starting. This year Pixar choose the short "La Luna", it is a superbly well done short film about generational gaps and a young boy becoming a man. When you watch this short film make sure to watch the detail around the three characters, from the boat to the moon, to even the waters surrounding them, it was a great work of art. Every year in the "academy awards" a short film is selected to win the award, we feel strongly that "La Luna" will be a strong contender, it has all the elements one would want from a short story, we loved it. But enough of all this, let's move on to the movie shall we.

Usually here is where we would start praising the movie and showering it with love, but we feel that we should start this review by saying that though this was a fun movie, that this was not what one would expect from Pixar. "Brave" is a great movie, it was entertaining, it was gorgeous, the story flowed well, but it wasn't groundbreaking, there wasn't that element of epicness you found in "UP", "Wall-e", "Toy Story" or "Finding Nemo", it was a great film but it wasn't a spectacular film like we have always gotten from Pixar in the past. In many ways this movie is your standard Disney princess movie with a "Brother Bear" element thrown in there for fun, the end result isn't bad but it isn't epic. With all that said let's talk about how fun this movie was.

"Brave" looks fantastic, it is astounding how far we have come when it comes to animation, from lighting to set design, "Brave" felt alive, the movie was quite a sight to see and it kept us engaged at all times. As we have talked about before this is Pixar's first time having a female main character and they did a really good job creating a character people could relate with, someone that is not perfect but lovable, they gave us a great main character with plenty of personality. The side characters were fantastic as well, the movie was packed with funny jokes and moments, the twins were hilarious and kept us entertained throughout the whole show as well, if you are a fan of animation and love Pixar's work then we recommend this movie hands down. Also a big shout out is deserved to all the voice actors that worked on this movie, they all did a spectacular job, top notch work for sure.

Rating this movie isn't an easy feat though, this movie was really fun and we recommend it for everyone, but when considering this movie's rating in light of all the other movies that Pixar has been a part of we can't give this movie more than a 3.5/5, it just doesn't stand up to the other projects that Pixar has been a part of, though this might seem like a low score it shouldn't be looked at as such for it was a great flick.  Due to the bar that Pixar has set upon themselves we can't help but be harsher with this film then we normally would. Putting the Pixar element aside this movie was a definite "must see" it will definitely be the best animated movie this summer, that you can count on. For the record, we did love this movie, so go watch it for sure.

Stay tuned for a special post on Sunday as we review "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter", hopefully it'll be as fun as the book. We hope you have had a great week and pray that your weekend might be a safe one.

Fantastic Distractions To Make Your Wednesday Awesome

In keeping with the spirit this week of finding good time wasters that may brighten your day, we thought it would be fun to blog about the top five sites where you can waste some time, get a laugh, keep yourself informed on what is going on in the world and find some relaxation this Wednesday. Wednesdays are always an interesting time, specially during the summer, it's hot out, work keeps you from being outside enjoying the day and sometimes you just can't help but get a little bogged down by it all, so taking time away to watch a funny video or reading about your favorite game, movie or tech can brighten a stale day and give you the right spirit to finish your day well. Hopefully this post might aid refresh your Wednesday and bring a smile to your face.

  College Humor

From their never ending slew of original content to their series "College Humor" is by far one of the best humor sites on the net. Out of all the styles of writing, humor is most definitely one of the toughest mediums to succeed at. For a site to be able to release so much original content while keeping it all funny and entertaining a cast of writers must assemble to take on this task, a cast of comic geniuses that stand out among the rest. "College Humor" has gotten much praise over the years and every praise they get is well deserved, this site has a little bit of fun for everyone and is the number one site you should always keep in your 'bookmarks' for those bad days where a laugh is needed.

    Cracked

Cracked does follow suit with "College Humor" in that they also have many awesomely written original videos in which you will lose yourself in. Though their videos are superbly well written they are not what makes "Cracked" awesome, the articles found within "Cracked" are the highlight of the website. One can spend hours on their site just browsing through article after article and not get enough. They range from music to random facts about the world and they are all interesting, entertaining and educational. After spending a few minutes reading up on some articles you'll know a lot more about the world then you had previously known while at the same time being entertained throughout the whole thing. This is the number two pick for best site to lose yourself in during a bad day for sure.

    Break/Digg/Fark

The convenience of "Break" is the same one you would find in a site like "Digg" or "Fark" except for they focus more on videos. Both "Digg" and "Fark" are sites dedicated to keeping you in the loop to what is happening in the world right now, so they link you to various sites that are trending online that you might have an interest in. "Break" does a similar thing but with videos, you'll be able to find out all the trending videos not only on YouTube but everywhere else in the net as well. For those not into videos then "Digg" and "Fark" are both a good choice for you. These are the three sites you need in order to always stay in the loop with everything that is going on. There is a danger here though for there is always something going on, be careful not to lose yourself in the absurd amounts of information within these sites.

  The Onion

This is an oldie but a goodie. "The Onion" is the classic "John Stewart" of the newspaper industry, and their website keeps that tradition going. If you are not familiar with "The Onion" we recommend you check their site out for sure. Keep in mind that some content within "The Onion" is rather mature, so keep that in mind when accessing the site. Their articles are generally work friendly but you never know, sometimes comedic writers choose to push the line a bit for the sake of humor and though sometimes they succeed, more often then not they fail. Though some articles within their site might be hit or miss, they are still the forerunners to everything so a shout out is always deserved.

  IGN

Out of all the sites within the Internet that deal with games, tech, movies, and comics there is no site that succeeds as well as IGN does. From articles, to videos, to conference coverages, to movie reviews, IGN is one of the most reliable sources of information on the web. If you are looking to catch up on missed E3 information or looking forward to some good Comic-Con coverage IGN is the site for you. They also have free guides to your favorite games and have all the latest news on all your television needs. If you care about being informed on everything games related IGN is the site for you, there is no site out there that comes even close to how awesome these guys are. Be sure to give them a look.

And there you have it, hopefully some of these sites might bring a smile to your face,  and be a pleasant distraction this Wednesday. We hope the rest of your week is a good one and pray that it might be a safe one.

YouTube Appreciation Day!!!

YouTube has been a part of our lives for a while now and though we loved it at first YouTube has begun to lose some numbers as of late, which brings sadness to our hearts. YouTube is a beautiful site for it allows people to share their talent, lives, skills, and potentially get their name out there while not spending a dime, this is a great thing. With this YouTube recession taking place we thought it would be a cool thing to have a YouTube appreciation day, a day where we post some of our favorite YouTubers on here and give you a brief description as to why we think they are awesome. Obviously some of them you already know being that we feature them quite a bit, but there are a few that you might not know that will help you waste some time this Monday. We hope that you might find some humor within these videos and that they might make your Monday a bit better.

  Phillip D Franco

This isn't news to many of you, PhillyD is by far my all time favorite YouTuber, there is something about his show that has kept me entertained for many years now. He isn't for everyone and we try to keep this blog as family friendly as possible so we won't be posting a video here but if you click on the picture you'll be linked to his latest video. He is the best news source out there, well not really the best news source, but he is a good source for news updates and the general "here is what is happening in the world". The issue with Phil that makes him not family friendly is that he curses a bit and has a tendency to make some jokes that might offend some people. With all that being said, you either love him or hate him, if you don't mind the cursing then I recommend you check him out, he'll keep you entertained and informed, welcome to the nation.

Cheap Cool Crazy

Another thing you might know from reading this blog for a while is that IGN is a great resource for information in the web. What some of you might not know is that IGN has various shows they do on the web one of which is "Cheap Cool Crazy", this show is family friendly and it is a sort of "the shopping network type show where you learn about cool products out there that you had no idea previously existed. If you have five minutes to spare this is a good choice for sure, you might learn something cool. The great thing about IGN shows is that you can count on them being funny, well written, good quality and packed with good useful information, so give it a look you might just love this series.

Up At Noon

There are many IGN shows and this is the last one we'll be featuring in this segment, but we couldn't help including it here. "Up At Noon" is a late night television spoof, so you can expect the corny jokes that you would find in Letterman or Conan but about games, movies and tech. The show does follow the same format as late night television, so you have some jokes in the beginning, some news, and interviews as well. This is a great show for anyone that appreciates those late night hosts, the jokes are cheesy and well written, you even learn some from the show, overall this is by far my favorite show that IGN hosts, and it is a definite good recommendation to everyone.

Epic Meal Time

These guys crack me up every time, they are definitely not family friendly so no video will be posted here but if you click on the picture above you'll be linked to their latest video. This channel is basically a mock cooking show where they make recipes all based off of bacon, each recipe being more absurd than the last, and though they look absurd they also look awesome, they look like something you would love to try and then die from a heart attack due to the unhealthy nature of all the dishes. It is said that since they started filming last year that they gained a combined weight of 315 pounds! The whole thing is absurd, but it is so funny and awesome, we recommend you give it a watch and live vicariously through these crazy guys. We don't recommend you try any of their recipes though, unless you don't care about your heart and such, for though they look appetizing these dishes look toxic to the soul. This is a great show, you should give it a watch and judge for yourselves.

  MysteryGuitarMan

MysteryGuitarMan has been one of my favorite YouTubers for many years now, here is a great YouTuber with tons of talent that should be talked about more and more. He happens to be Brasilian as well and attempts to feature something in Portuguese within each of his videos, I appreciate this being Brasilian myself and all. He has been featured in various sites and news programs, MGM has got amazing talent, be it for video editing to musical talent, the guy is a genius for sure. We have spoken about MGM many times before but we can't help but talk about him again, here is a man deserving of all the attention he continuously gets. If you have a chance you should check out some of his videos today, they will entertain you and make your day a little better.

We hope you have a great week and pray that it might be a safe one. Hopefully some of these videos might make your Monday that much better.

Adam Sandler: Remembering The Great Past

"That's My Boy" is about to come out and Adam Sandler will once again disappoint us with a mediocre performance, with forced humor and strong scenes in an attempt to make us laugh through pure obnoxiousness, this all is a sad sad thing. There was a time when Adam Sandler used to make us laugh, where the movies he was in were funny and not trashy, where he didn't rely on pure grossness or absurdity to make us laugh but actually cared about his jokes and attempted to be semi intelligent, it breaks our hearts to see where Adam's career has ended up. With all this in mind we decided that it would be a fun exercise to remember the first 4 great films that Adam Sandler was in, the movies that stole our hearts and made us love him, these are the "Adam Sandler Classics".

   Billy Madison

This was the first big "blockbuster" of his career, this was the movie that put him on the map for sure, though a comedy, this movie will forever belong within "must watch" lists in the ages to come. This movie pokes fun at all the different issues we face while growing up at school, from preschool to high school Adam Sandler gives a satire on all the troubles we face while in those periods of our life. The struggle of being the "cool kid", or the "bully", from trying to be popular and trying to come back from being the school loser to winning the school over, all these things are portrayed in this movie brilliantly. This movie spawned a series of other movies based on similar variations of this character, thus causing "Billy Madison" to be the first on our list and our favorite by far out of all of his movies.

   Happy Gilmore

This movies deserves mad respect, making golf fun is not an easy thing to do so the fact that golf is fun here is a big deal, also the Adam Sandler we loved in "Billy Madison" is back, not forcing his jokes but making good intelligent silly jokes about golf, life and everything. The greatness of many of Adam Sandler's earlier movies had a lot to do with the subtlety of the jokes and not the absurdity of the joke, they used to be able to entertain us while making a good point. One strong point within these movies is the fact that a 4 year old can watch them and laugh while a 50 year old can watch it and laugh, both laughing at the same joke for two separate reasons, but both laughing. Making a joke generational is a tough thing and thus the beauty of this movie.

     The Wedding Singer

This was a step up in Adam Sandler's career, this was the moment he dropped his previous motif and attempted to play a different type of "funny" while keeping some of elements we loved from his previous characters, and it was a job well done. Drew Barrymore compliments this movie perfectly giving the movie that extra touch it needed to be pure gold, this was one of the performances that put her on the map (other movies did it but this was the one that made us all start to love her). Here we also learn the fact that Adam can sing and that he is a fantastic lyricist, there were many a hopeless romantics who after watching this movie learned the song "Grow Old With You" or the pained song "Somebody Kill Me", this movie will live on as a classic within the Sandler timeline.

    The Waterboy

There is something about this movie that makes us laugh every time we watch it, maybe it's the play on sheltering parents, or on a good movie about a naive boy learning to be a man, or it might be all these elements together that make us love this movie from beginning to end, this was one of the most memorable performances in his comedic career for sure. This isn't the best acting job in his career, nor does it host the best story within the movies in his career but for some reason it's one of the most memorable of all the movies he was in, people quote this movie without knowing they are quoting this movie, it just stays with you, in a good way. If you haven't seen this one we recommend you watch this movie, we recommend you watch all four of these movies, all of them are really good, it'll give you a better perspective on Adam Sandler, promise.

There were other good movies in his career that came after this one, but it was around 2005 that his last good movie came out and every other movie after that was just progressively wretched, the good ones that came before 2005 that you might want to check out are "Punch-Drunk Love", "Big Daddy", "50 First Dates", and "Mr. Deeds", these are all awesome, my favorite being "Big Daddy" for sure. Hopefully Adam Sandler will start making good movies again, we pray for that for sure, we miss his good work. Anyway, this weekend you can either go watch Tom Cruise as he goes through a mid-life crisis or watch Adam Sandler as he performs within another crappy movie, both of which might be entertaining but most likely will leave you underwhelmed, if you need an escape brave these out, if not then this is a good weekend to stay in an go bowling or something.

We hope you have had a great week and pray that this weekend might be a great one for you,

E3, Comic-Con, VidCon: Why They Are Awesome

With E3 behind us there are a few conventions left that you should be aware about, and some that have already occurred that you should be aware of. The first big bit of news that happened recently was that Apple just had their own press conference unveiling new devices and showing the improvements to some of the older products we know and love. The conference was fantastic and many people have covered it intensely, though we are aware that many of you don't care about computer specs and so forth so for a good recap of the show you can view it HERE, keep in mind that Phillip D Franco does curse a bit in his videos so if you are offended by that then don't watch that link. PhillyD also did coverage of this year's E3 and will be covering some of the conventions we will be talking about today, so if you are interested in following them as they go PhillyD is a good choice. We're going to give you a brief overview of said conventions here, but we'll be covering it fully as the conventions approach, so no worries, this is more of a "raise awareness to the existence of these cons" post not a "here is everything you need to know about them" post.

The first big con you should be aware of is the upcoming Vidcon, which is basically a gathering of YouTube celebrities where you have all the big names within YouTube come together to learn from one another and have a good time. Last year's Vidcon had a lot of good surprises come out of it, and the videos that circulated from the event were rather funny and educational. If YouTube is your thing then this con is for you, Phill will be covering the con so you can follow the happenings through him or most other entertainment sources, IGN will surely do a piece on it as well, so if you are more of a reader than a vid watcher maybe that will be a better medium for you. Vidcon this year will take place in LA on July 28th -30th.

The big convention that is coming up shortly on July 12th through the 15th is Comic-Con 2012. Comic-Con started as a more comic centered convention but has now become much much more. This convention is big news to everyone for here we learn about new TV shows that are coming out and movies that Marvel and DC are putting together, to comics, a much more. There is no telling what will be unveiled every year at Comic-Con but speculations are high this year on what Marvel and DC have in store for us for next year. The convention is famous for the massive amounts of fans that flock there every year, and of course the great costumed fans that show up keep the show interesting and entertaining.

Some of the big news circulating is that we'll get some more feedback on what's going on with "The Amazing Spider-man", we wouldn't be surprised if some information about "The Avengers" came out there as well. There are also rumors circulating about a possible reboot of the "Green Lantern" series, which would take us by surprise being that the latest movie wasn't necessarily all that bad. A full list of what's to be expected in this year's Comic-Con will be made public as we near the event, but mentioning that this convention exists was the main goal here, many are not aware of the conference and frankly being that this is a big deal we figured we should pass the word along. For more details on this year's Comic-Con visit their main site HERE.

Proof that YouTube's got a lot of talent, MysteryGuitarMan
We all have passions and sometimes great minds get together to put on a convention where great minds that think alike can come together to bond, exchange ideas, share their work with the public and try to make a name for themselves. These conventions, E3 included, are fun for we learn about what the big dogs in the industry are doing and generally get pleasant surprises about what to expect for the coming year, but there is another side to these events, the fact that upcoming artists, programmers, vloggers, and so forth can display their work, network and try to make a name for themselves, and that is an awesome thing. We're all about supporting the little guy, we think that pushing upcoming talent is the future. Sometimes people forget that without these guys the industry would die, and therefore though these events are a lot of fun and a lot of information is passed along, there is also another more beautiful element present, and that is of giving people a chance to show their talent and blow the world's mind.

As these conventions draw nearer we'll fill you in on what is going on, what is being announced and all that fun stuff. We hope your week has been going well, and pray that it might be a safe one.

Best Of E3 2012: Top 5 Picks

E3 is the biggest video game convention in the world, and it happens once a year. This is where the big companies (Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft) come together to battle it out in a battle royal to decide who will be the victor in the coming year. It is a time of revelations and surprises, a time where we get to take a look at upcoming games and new systems being unveiled, put simply, E3 is the gamers "NFL draft". This year we had Nintendo unleashing their new system upon the world the Wii U and though it does look pretty cool it did not steal the show. In fact none of the three big dogs stole the show this year, this year's E3 went to games, here are the top 5 games you should look forward to with anticipation, these were the titles that stole E3 and thus deserve your full respect. With each title we'll include a picture and a video so you can be amazed by the awesomeness of these titles.

 Assassin's Creed III

There is no surprise here, the AC series has not disappointed. It was this series that perfected open world exploration and interaction, the ability to climb up buildings and blend with crowds seamlessly was unheard of until this game showed us how it is done. The Assassin's Creed series spawned two main games, two side games and a live action tie in between the first game and the second, in short this is a game you must play for sure. In AC III you will be playing in more familiar territories and will be helping the US in our fight for freedom, though the creators of the game were not speaking much on it in order to not include spoilers, they did hint to us fighting against both sides, something along the lines of "even on your own side sometimes there are people that will cause you to fail" type of mentality, this is not confirmed mind you, it is just something one can deduce after listening to the interviews. This is a game worth checking out for sure, watch the video and be amazed, it looks awesome.

  Tomb Raider

Lara Croft is back with a brand new look, and she is looking good. This game is revamping the series bringing the game back to its roots, the plot behind this game is that there is a shipwreck and young Lara is stuck on an island where she must learn to survive and mature, basically this is the game that defines who Lara is, this is where you find out what makes Lara be who she is, and it looks awesome. The game is going back to it's roots in that you'll be playing a survival instead of a straight puzzler, you'll still have puzzles and platforms but they will be more fluid and will make more sense, instead of random puzzles this will be your fight against surviving in nature, and nature is not something to be taken lightly. There is talk behind the scenes of this game inspiring a reboot of the movie series as well, if the movie follows this game concept and looks this awesome then the reboot will be a welcomed thing for sure. I cannot wait to play this game, it looks awesome.

    Watch Dogs

This was a surprise to us all, no one knew this game was going to be introduced and everyone was cheering when the preview ended, it just rocked all our worlds. The game takes place in a world where a city's mass media information is managed by a super computer, thus all the private information of everyone within the city and the overall mechanics of the city are controlled by this super computer. You play an assassin who has power over this super computer being able to manipulate the environment at your will and find out anything you want about anyone around the city, the key thing here is data, the game is huge, super huge and gives you room to play it in your own way. You can listen in to other people's conversations in order to learn things about your target, you can manipulate stop lights, and more, the game is huge and we don't have all the details about it yet, but it definitely looks amazing, this game will blow our minds.

       Beyond

Quantic Dream has not disappointed yet with any of their games, in the original Xbox they released "Indigo Prophecy" which was by far the most overlooked game in the system but was brilliant, the game was just simply ahead of its time by five years. When the next gen systems came out Quantic Dream released a PS3 only game called "Heavy Rain" which has a completion rate of over 70%, this completion rate is a huge deal, huge. In "Heavy Rain" you played a very realistic mystery game where you could do anything you wanted, and I mean anything, the game is so detailed that some have found themselves being lost trying to find things the game won't let you do. Quantic Dream's goal in their games is to deliver the most realistic game as possible, they focus on giving you the best graphics, the best story, and the easiest controls in order to keep you engaged in the story at all times. This time around they got Ellen Page to be their main character, focusing on facial structures and a more supernatural plot, there is much that can be said about this game but the video speaks for itself, watch it and let your mind be blown.

   The Last Of Us

Post-apocalyptic games and movies have always had us captivated, there are a dozen of them around, but even though this game follows this ever familiar motif it is attempting to deliver a different twist to the genre. The game is a combination of "The Road", "Resident Evil" and "The Book Of Eli", it follows you and a girl you are protecting (your daughter?) as you fight against bad people, zombies and just try to survive on Earth after this zombie breakout took place. There isn't a lot of information being spread around about this game and besides the little things we see in the previews there isn't much else that we know about the game. Though this is the case this game is still blowing minds all around. It looks pristine, the plot is captivating and gameplay looks very fluid, it is definitely a game you should keep a close eye on throughout this year. Though there are other survival horror games coming out like "Resident Evil 6" that look good, this game blows them all out of the water by originality and graphics, it is a great addition to next year's line up.

And there you have it, there were a ton of other news and games that came out of E3, these were our picks but you should definitely go on IGN.com and look at their articles covering all that took place at E3, lots of good stuff. We hope you have a great week and pray that it might be a safe one.

(There is a lot more that can be said about the games and plots within them, for the sake of avoiding spoilers we've tried to just give a brief overview)
